For more information on adding contacts within WealthWorks+, our previous tutorial here may still be of assistance.

Tutorial Transcript

To access the Contact Directory, click Contacts on the left hand menu. The contact list has the same options as many other tables in the system. You can print or copy the contents of the table or export the table to Excel. You can select which columns are displayed. You can move the columns into a preferred order and sort using the column headings. This can be useful to help identify records with missing data. The last button lets you reset the table back to the defaults.

(00:48) There are several ways to search the Contact Directory. You can use the filter options to limit the contacts list to a particular Contact Type, Contact Role, Status, or Managed Entity category. As you select the filter options the contact list will automatically update. To clear individual filters, click on the x next to the filter name, or clear all the filters by clicking the Clear button. Once you've finished with the filters you can collapse the portlet. This is useful if you are working on smaller device. There is also a Search option. Type the name or part of a name in the box and click Search. You can also search for terms within the contact records, such as specific country of reference. To clear the search, delete the text and click the Search button again to display the full directory. Finally, you can find a contact by selecting the alphabetical character the name begins with. When you select a letter, the system will take you to the page in the Contact Directory where that letter starts, so you may see contacts of the previous letter showing at the top of the list. If there are no contacts that begin with a certain letter that letter will be greyed out. If you navigate away from the Contact Directory any previous searches or filters applied will reset.

(02:12) You can add a new contact by clicking the Add Contact button, or by using the Actions button on the top menu and selecting the contact type. Complete the details as appropriate and click Save. Note, if you need to add a full managed entity, it is crucial that you use the onboarding process. Do not add a fully managed entity as a contact as contacts cannot be converted into a managed entity or vice versa..

(02:38) To edit the details of a contact, click on the name to go to the contact's full record. A contact record looks like a slimmed down version of a managed entity and can be edited in the same way. Go to the tutorial on editing an entity for further information.

This tutorial is confirmed to be applicable from WealthWorks+ release 4.4.
