This video will take you through how to add investments types to WealthWorks +.  


This video tutorial will assist you in

  • How to add a new or edit a Portfolio Group, on a client basis or globally. 
  • How to add/ edit the Portfolio Codes assigned to your investment ledgers.
  • How to filter your investments by Portfolio Groups.

Portfolio Groups can be created in two ways, either by only appearing on the selected sub-fund or globally for all funds. 


[00:18] To add and edit the available portfolio groups for the selected sub-fund, select the 'Investments' tab and click the 'Options' button. Select 'Portfolio Groups - Sub Fund only'. Click the first row to add a new group; enter a short code (reference) and the name of the Portfolio Group. If you need to amend an existing group, click on either their name or code to make any amendments.  Only unused portfolio groups can be removed. 


[00:52] The portfolio group to which an investment ledger belongs can be changed at any time. Select 'Actions' followed by 'View Investment Ledger Details'. Navigate to the 'Ledger Details' tab. The 'Portfolio Group' is within the 'Ledger Classification' area. If you edit this, you can amend which portfolio group the ledger belongs too.  


[01:35] To add or edit a Portfolio Group which can be used anywhere on your system. Go to 'Options', 'Data Configuration' followed by 'Maintain Lists', From the drop-down menu select 'Portfolio Groups (All entities)'. To add a new portfolio group, click on the 'Add Portfolio Group' line. Add the Portfolio Group Code and Name. Existing groups can be edited, by clicking on the line, and only unused Portfolio Groups can be removed. The Portfolio Group drop down will show you the Global and Entity specific Portfolio Groups available to select for your Ledger. 


[02:40] Once you have assigned a Portfolio Group to your ledgers, it will allow you to use the filter on the Investment Ledgers details. On your Entity details, in the Investment section on the Finance tab. If the Portfolio Code column is visible. There is a 'Filter' option on that column which will allow you to filter the table with a select group. You can also clear any filters added too.
