This video will take you through how to manage your investment ledgers.
This video tutorial will assist you in;
- How to delete an investment ledger from your managed entity (if no transactions have been posted to it)
- Check and amended the ledger settings and classification
- How to update the default nominal codes for the investment and entity
Tutorial Transcript
To manage your investments ledgers, you need to be within the 'Investment' tab of your managed entity. If you have an investment where no transactions have been posted to it, you can remove it. Select 'Actions' > 'Delete'. Confirm the deletion and the investment will be removed from the entity.
[00:48] To edit the details of the investment ledger, double-click on the row or click the 'Action' button and select 'View Ledger Details'. Navigate to the Ledger Details tab to edit the record. Within the Ledger settings you can amend the status, income paid and select whether the ledger is a business asset. The ledger cost currency can be changed if no transactions have been posted to this ledger. You can edit the ledger classification. Once all amendments are made, ensure you click 'Save' to return to the investment ledger details.
[02:32] The default ledger nominal codes used for posting investment transaction types can be edited on the Default Nominal Codes tab. Click on the edit icon, which will enable you to amend the Nominal codes. If you make any changes, press 'Save' to exit. The Transaction tab will show all holdings for the ledger and will allow you recalculate the ledger or even export the data.
