Overview

The IHT35 is the form to complete if you wish to claim relief on shares or securities that were part of the deceased's estate and were sold at a loss.  Clients have requested this form so we have included this form within the product.

With effect from the Troika 2.09.019 release, the IHT35 form will pre-populate the first section using information held within Troika.  There is no longer any requirement to duplicate this by having to re-enter within the IHT35_1 Load Data subsection.

Producing the Form

From the Wealth Management module, select the Client tab and the menu option IHT & Other Tax Forms.  Select the IHT35 form and click Generate to produce the form.

The IHT35 form will pre-populate with the following information held within Troika:

  • Section - Claim for relief
    • Full description of holding (including the number of shares or amount of stock held)
    • Date of death price
    • Date of death value
    • Sales date
    • Sales price
    • Gross proceeds

Eligble investment sales made, within twelves months of the deceased's death, will be recorded here, with the exception of any investments marked with an 'AIM' indicator.  You can review whether this indicator has been applied to your investments within the Wealth Management module, Investment tab and the menu option Investment Details.

Data entry in Load Data subsections IHT35_2, IHT35_8, IHT35_D and IHT35_R can all be continue to be completed to populate the remaining sections of the IHT35, if required.  Alternatively, information can be entered direct onto the form.

Once done, and on exiting, you must save your changes.

Please note, the first five investment sales will be recorded on the IHT35.  In the event of more than five sales within twelve months of date of death, further sales will be reported on the IHT35 continuation form, IHT35CS.

To produce this continuation form, select the IHT35CS form from the menu option IHT & Other Tax Forms and click Generate.

Once the form has been run, and on exiting, you must save your changes.

These notes are confirmed to be applicable from Troika release 2.09.019.
