Overview

To reduce the time our clients spend manually entering opening Trial Balances from Xero, this guide explains how to import these, from an exported Xero Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.

Importing the List

Within the Wealth Management module, select the Client tab and the option Xero Trial Balance Import.

From the Path: option, navigate to the location of the Excel file to be imported.

From the File: option, select the Excel file to be imported from the list.  Note only those with a .xlsx extension will be listed here.

Troika will start to import the records, and will display the following message "Processing Trial Balance - Please wait":

Once imported, they display will show the debit/credit amounts and any automatic mapped Troika nominal account code in the 'Mapping' column:

Mapping

Each Zero account code must be mapped to a corresponding nominal account code in Troika.

In the event a Troika nominal account code has the same numeric value (ignoring any leading zeros) as the Xero account code, the mapping will be done automatically by Troika.

Use the drop down list within the 'Mapping' column for all other blank mapped entries, to make a selection of an appropriate Troika nominal account code:

Once a Troika nominal account code has been mapped to a Zero account code, it will be stored for any future imports.

Note: Ensure that the fund default bank account has been set up, as this will be used for all contra postings when the journal transactions are created.

Once complete, click Import.

The nominal opening balances will now display within the Wealth Management module, the Client tab and the option Trial Balance
