An organisational chart is a useful tool to represent a trust or company's structure, and indicates clear relationships between contacts. WealthWorks+ uses the information stored within the entity registers to create this chart.
This video tutorial will guide users on all aspects of the organisational charts within WealthWorks+, including how to:
- Amend the size/display of the chart
- View additional details within the chart
- Customise the chart view
The video refers to the colour coding of each register. This is the full list of registers shown within the organisational chart, with the colour code for their grouping:

The org chart layout and content can be customised and saved to assist with your reporting requirements. To view an entity's org chart, select the Organisational Chart tab. If it is not visible click on the ellipsis and select Organisational Chart. If there is an asterisk next to the org chart's name in the portlet header then you are viewing the default chart, not an edited saved version.
(00:31) The chart may initially appear very small. Use the zoom option to increase (or decrease) to size of the chart. The scroll button on your mouse or touch pad also acts as a zoom option.
(00:42) You can also expand the portlet to give you the maximum amount of space to work with by using the double arrows in the top right corner of the portlet header. If you need to exit the expanded view, simply click on the arrows again.
(00:54) To move the focus of the screen, click and drag the chart until you have the desired view.
(01:01) The chart is colour-coded to help distinguish the different roles within it. The yellow node is the root or starting entity and cannot be edited. Green represents full entities, Blue for contacts, and entities from the same registers will also be sorted into colour-coded groups. For example, Advisors are purple, Directors are blue and Trustees are red. Refer to the article for the full list of register types used in the org chart and their corresponding colour keys.
(01:29) To see additional details for each entity, use the arrows in the portlet header, or use the arrow on individual nodes to expand the details for that one entity. If you click on the + sign you can expand the org chart to include the chart of that entity to the original chart. When you first add the additional org chart the layout of the chart may look disorderly. You can use the Auto-layout button which will automatically rearrange the chart into a more logical presentation, but you can also rearrange the chart yourself.
(02:00) You can click on each element and drag it into a new position, including the nodes, connectors and arrow, giving you maximum flexibility to create your desired display of the data. If you click on a connector it may create a new vertex (junction). If you end up with too many vertices and wish to simplify the look of the connector, you can remove one by clicking on the x next to it (you may need to zoom in). You can also remove an entire node from the chart, by clicking on the - sign. If the node has any linked entities or contacts these will also be removed.
(02:32) If you click on the entity name in a node, you will navigate away from the Org Chart to the entity or contact that node represents however, be aware that any unsaved edits to the chart will be lost.
(02:42) Once you have finished editing your chart, click the save button. This will preserve the customisation for next time you view the chart and you will notice that the asterisk changes into the save icon to confirm that you are viewing a saved version of the chart.
(02:56) The chart can then be printed or exported as an image. If you use the SVG option the image will be on a transparent background and can be re-sized without any loss of resolution making it our recommended option to use in external reports.
(03:11) If changes are made to the root entity's registers any customisations or edits made to the org chart will be lost. This is to ensure the data in the chart is never out of date. You can also use the reset button at any time to manually restore the chart back to its default.
