To manage a company's shareholders, select Member Ledgers. In the Member Selection box, the members are grouped into: Members/Shareholders, Joint Members/Shareholders, and Nominee Shareholders. To find a member, start typing their name or the share class into the search box and the members will filter automatically.
(00:37) To view a ledger, select the share class beneath their name (click on their name to expand their share holdings). The ledger will then display on the right in the Share Ledger box.
(00:46) To add a new sole or joint member, or a new share class to an existing member, click on the Add Member button. In the Member field, start typing the member's name and then select them from the search results. Select the Share Class from the drop-down list. Complete any other relevant fields and click Save. The member will now appear in the Member Selection box with the share classes listed underneath them.
(01:14) You can also add members using the Registers. Go to the Registers tab, select Members and then click Add Item. This is also where you can edit or delete a member using the Actions button. Please note, you cannot delete a member if share allotments have been posted to them unless you delete the transactions first.
(01:33) Nominee Shareholders must be set up in the Registers before they can be added to the Members Ledgers. In the Registers, select Nominees then click Add Item. Enter details of the Nominee and the Nominor. Select the effective date, then click Save. Now add the Nominee to the Member Ledgers. Entering the Nominee as the Member, add the Share Class, then select the Nominor as the Beneficial Owner of Shares and click Save.
