Our standard installations from mid-2022 will default to use Microsoft Access Runtime 365, 32-bit.
Some organisations prefer to utilise existing Microsoft Access installations which are already present. This is possible by amending the workstations 'AccessVer' setting within the 'TroikaSQL.ini' configuration file:
- 14 for Access 2010 (no longer supported)
- 15 for Access 2013 (no longer supported)
- 16 for Access 2016 (no longer supported)
- 16 for Access 2019 (no longer supported)
- 16 for Access 2021 (including installed Office 365)
For those users wishing to use an existing 2021 installation, an additional setting is also needed within the configuration file.
The workstation's 'TroikaSQL.ini' configuration file requires the following setting:
UseLongPath=-1.
Where present, please amend to UseLongPath=-1. In the event the setting is not present, please insert manually beneath the Accessver= setting as follows:
In the event this setting is not added, you will see the following error when loading Troika:
MSACCESS.EXE - Application Error
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142).
Click OK to close the application.
