Managing the list of countries available within WealthWorks+ is within your control. The system is usually pre-populated with a list of countries. Where you require a new country to be made available to you, or to make a change to a country, it is possible to add this within WealthWorks+, providing you have the permission in your assigned role to do this.
From a portlet where a country is displayed for an entity or contact, find a field where the countries are listed (for example the company or trust administration tab for an entity). Click the edit button on the portlet title bar to edit the records.
Next click the add button next to the country name.
Enter the country name you want to add to the system, and enter the Alpha-3-character Country ISO code.
The codes are defined by ISO Standard 3166-1. Please note these are NOT the currency ISO codes.
For example:
- GBR United Kingdom
- USA United States of America
- JEY Jersey
- IMN Isle of Man
- GGY Guernsey
- IRL Ireland
Please note that the Country Code for United Kingdom must be set to GBR for the VAT (MTD) submission to function. The VAT Country for entities must be United Kingdom (GBR) and not England and Wales, or anything else.
For provinces, states and other country second-level divisions, please refer to ISO-3166- Sub division codes. For example, ISO 3166-2:GB for the UK.
For Nations, use the last 3 characters of the Nation code:
- EAW England and Wales
- GBN Great Britain
- ENG England
- NIR Northern Ireland
- SCT Scotland
- WLS Wales
For territories please use these codes:
- MYK Labuan (Malaysia)
An alternative code for United Kingdom UKM is also allowed introduced by British Standard. It was added to ISO 3166-2 in Newsletter 9.
