When producing IHT forms (either from menu option IHT & Other Tax Forms, or Estate Details - Edit, Forms tab) a Generate button is available. Using this button will take a blank copy of the template form, and populate it with all the information it can from Troika. In some instances, you may wish to add additional information within the form not captured within Troika. If you have done this, you must save the form on exiting.

In the event information on your client is updated within Troika, you may want to run a further IHT form, without losing the manual changes made in the previous version. There is a smaller button/option to the right of the previously run/saved form, called ‘Regenerate this version of the form’. When using this, you are using the form which has already been generated as your new template form. The form will be re-populated with all the information it can from Troika. Any fields which are NOT calculated by Troika will retain the amendments made in the previous generated form. In the event any fields which Troika calculates were amended, these changes will be overwritten.

It is important, if changes are required to any data that has been entered within Troika, that the changes are made directly within Troika, rather than on the form. This will ensure the correct information flows to the form.

Should your estate create ‘additional’ forms/schedules, for example where more than one Schedule IHT409 is required for your estate, manually added additional information can be saved on these too, if required. However, we would recommend this is done as a last step, only once you are confident all your Troika data is correct. Any form regeneration is unable to use the saved amended additional form as its base, but must instead use the blank copy of the additional template form.
